Natalie Dormer misspoke during her interview with Jimmy Kimmel Live and everyone’s running wild with it.
If you haven’t seen the video, Dormer basically talked about wanting to experience Game of Thrones like a fan. Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell, will only read scripts relating to her character in Highgarden, but quickly corrected herself and said King’s Landing.
The reason for the freak out is King’s Landing shoots normally take place in Croatia, not Spain. Dormer confirmed she was in Spain this year, which means the show could have filmed Highgarden scenes there. However, last we saw Margaery she was in a jail cell like Cersei.
The A Song of Ice and Fire saga has yet to go to Highgarden, but it’s possible HBO’s Game of Thrones will visit Margaery’s homeland in season 6. It’s also possible Dormer just misspoke during the interview and everyone’s freaking out of nothing.
A Song of Fire and Ice author George R.R. Martin recently announced he would not be able to complete the six installment Winds of Winter before the Game of Thrones season 6 premiere. Dormer briefly touched on the subject of the show getting ahead of the book during her interview with Kimmel.
"They sat down and had a big powwow with George a couple of years ago in case of this eventuality," Dormer told Kimmel. "Maybe A to B they go off on slightly different tangents, but B is still B."
