Sean Bean has gotten pretty good about giving non-answers when it comes to Game of Thrones questions.
The former Ned Stark actor was asked about his character’s possible return to the HBO franchise during an interview on Larry King Now. King specifically asked if Bean would be interested in joining a Game of Thrones prequel series or be willing to rejoin the cast in the future.
Bean goes on to say he’s not sure how a Ned Stark return would work in the series, but doesn’t answer whether he’d join the cast in a future Game of Thrones episode. Watch the clip here to see Bean’s full response to the question on Larry King Now.
[Warning: possible Game of Thrones spoilers ahead]
The Game of Thrones season 6 production was plagued last year with many Ned Stark return rumors. The biggest rumor claimed fans will get to see a young Ned Stark’s reunion with his sister Lyanna Stark in the Tower of Joy though one of Bran Stark’s visions. For those who haven’t read the books, the Tower of Joy is where Rhaegar Targaryen sent Lyanna to keep her safe during Robert’s Rebellion.
Many fans believe something important happened between Ned and Lyanna. Author George R.R. Martin has yet to reveal what happened in the Tower of Joy, but the most popular theory is Lyanna had given birth to Rhaegar’s child, who is believed to be Jon Snow. Lyanna made Ned promise to keep Jon safe and raise him as his own.
You’ll have to tune in to HBO’s Game of Thrones season 6 on April 24.
