Gamescom is happening throughout the week, and as such gamers can expect a ton of new announcements surrounding highly anticipated titles, as well as new releases from publishers and developers. Nothing beats the excitement surrounding fresh news on upcoming titles, and these are at the center of the five-day major gaming event at the Koelmnesse in Germany. Be sure to stay tuned with us the whole week as we bring you the latest from Gamescom 2019 in the form of the latest trailers, announcements, news and other information drops on all the newest games hitting the market.
Publisher Focus Home Interactive is prepping up for two big releases next month, both taking you on amazing adventures in both action- and narrative-driven RPG titles. The Surge 2 by Deck13 is out on September 24, while Spiders’ GreedFall will be hitting various platforms on September 10. For the latter, the publisher has released a trailer delving into the game’s many companions, each offering unique abilities and other benefits to your group as you set out on Tear Fradee. Check out the trailer below to see more.
I can’t help but have flashbacks to Fallout as GreedFall’s latest trailer starts showcasing its companion system, especially given as they have specific questlines to follow and relationships to maintain. I do appreciate that there seems to be actual consequences to following certain paths, as GreedFall opens with your character as a diplomat uniquely positioned to offer his/her expertise with the tensions rising in the island. Along the way, you’ll team up with various representatives from other factions, each with their own needs and attitudes. Sometimes, inevitably, those will clash with your own decisions, and this will end up affecting your relationships.
The only thing I’m rooting for is that these relationships actually end up being meaningful, as GreedFall has already shown its combat to be incredibly competent and action-packed, with some very intuitive RPG mechanics added on top.
GreedFall will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 10.
Be sure to stick around for more news on the latest happenings in Gamescom all throughout the week.
