The first-person co-op exploration game Journey to the Savage Planet has just received a release date of January 2020, as announced by publisher 505 Games and developer Typhoon Studios. Along with the news came a five-minute gameplay clip showcasing its exploration, combat, and world-traversing mechanics.
Journey to the Savage Planet is set on a bright and colorful alien world named AR-Y-26 that is yours to explore. Players assume control of a Kindred Aerospace employee that is left with little equipment and a daunting task: to catalog the planet’s flora and fauna and see if it is fit for human habitation.
The game can be played by up to two players and your main goals are to catalog the flora and fauna at your own pace, each of them with their own unique behaviors, traits, and abilities. To survive, it is essential that you explore the strange planet and gather resources to upgrade your laser pistol, rocket pack, and even craft items with your 3D printer.
Journey to the Savage Planet will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 28, 2020 in North America, both physically and digitally. A worldwide physical release will follow on January 31 for the price of $29.99. All who pre-order the game on either of the three platforms will receive two exclusive in-game bonus items. More information can be found on the game’s official site.
