Version 1.6 for Genshin Impact is confirmed to be released on June 9. Also called the "Midsummer Island Adventure," it’s going to introduce alternate outfits for the characters and a new playable character.
Players can also expect two summer-themed outfits. The first is the “Sea Breeze Dandelion” outfit for Jean Gunnhildr, available for purchase at the in-game shop. The second is Barbara Pegg’s “Summertime Sparkle.” While this one is available for free, players need to complete some of the requirements in the Echoing Tales event to claim it.
Genshin Impact puts players in the role of the “Traveler” who is on a journey to discover what happened to their lost sibling and along the way discover more about Teyvat.
The Story so Far
For the upcoming update, the story starts with Klee. It seems that she has received a letter from someone known as the “Dodo-King” and is threatening to take away Dodoco. To help the two, the Traveler sets sail on a boat known as “Waverider” to search for “Dodoland.”
Along this journey, players get to be tested in a series of challenges like a fight with Maguu Kenki. Maguu is a new opponent that can summon phantoms and deal not only Anemo but also Cryo damage. The only way to take down this new boss is through close-range combat. By finishing challenges, players can get event currencies and redeem different valuable resources.
New Character
The new character to be introduced by the upcoming update is Kaedehara Kazuha. He is going to be the first playable character from Inazuma. Kazuha is a five-star character that wields a sword and commands the power of Anemo. He can provide control, as well as additional buffs, to the team. His Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst can deal Anemo damage while giving a crowd control effect. It can also deal extra damage when in contact with Cryo, Electro, Hydro, and Pyro. Finally, Kazuha can trigger a Swirl reaction which can further buff his teammates through an Elemental Damage Bonus of their corresponding Element.
Besides a playable character, Kazuha is also featured in the new Archon Quest. Traveling with Beidou and her Crux Fleet, Kazuha gives clues on how to get to Inazuma.
Version 1.6 will introduce further improvements to the current gameplay along with new features. One such feature is the Serenitea Pot which lets players invite characters they own to reside in their realm. Characters that are in the player's realm get Character Companionship Experience over time, and this rate of increase is affected by the Adeptal Energy Rank.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 for free.
