E3 is not happening this year, but that’s okay. Summer Game Fest is taking its place with tons of game announcements, footage, and world premieres. Geoff Keighley, the host of the upcoming event, revealed which companies fans can expect at the function.
Summer Game Fest 2022 will take place on June 9 to bring tons of information about upcoming games. Keighley has disclosed the names of 31 companies present at the event. More will be announced soon.
Confirmed Partners
As you would expect, all major companies are present, including 2K, Activision Blizzard, EA, Epic Games, Sony PlayStation, and Microsoft Xbox. However, Nintendo will not be attending the show. This was expected because in the last few years, Nintendo usually holds its own separate show.
Also, don’t expect Xbox and PS to go all-in at the show. Xbox has another event planned for June 12, while PlayStation will probably have a showcase in September like last year. Several other companies like Steam, Netflix, Warner Bros., Devolver Digital, ATLUS, Bandai Namco, and Bloober Team will be attending the show.
Possible Games
The list of games to be shown at the event hasn’t been revealed, but I think we can make some educated guesses. Activision Blizzard showing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is a certainty. EA could show Dead Space Remake or Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Square Enix has tons of games in development like Kingdoms Hearts 4, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, Final Fantasy 15, and Forspoken. We could see any of these titles. Capcom can finally show us the upcoming DLC of Resident Evil Village, but I am more interested in Resident Evil 4 Remake and Pragmata.
Some smaller companies like Focus Entertainment and Skybound Games will be attending the show. I am sure Focus will show gameplay footage of A Plague Tale: Requiem. I am hoping that Skybound will finally show The Wolf Among Us 2.
