Ghost of Tsushima is a brilliant and inspirational game for 2020. The game was in development for six years, and when it was released in July this year, it exceeded everybody's expectations. Despite being a new IP, developer Sucker Punch did a phenomenal job with the game, and those who finished have been left wondering about what could be next.
Interestingly, a recent job posting by Sucker Punch indicates that the developer might be thinking about a sequel for Ghost of Tsushima. According to the job listing, Sucker Punch is looking for a Narrative Writer who is capable of writing stories for open-world games and crafting narrative content. Interestingly, the job listing also made the mention of "knowledge of feudal Japanese history." This seems to be a strong indication that the developer is indeed working on some kind of Ghost of Tsushima content. However, one cannot be certain whether the developer is working on a sequel or some kind of story expansion.
It is also important to notice that Ghost of Tsushima has been out for only three months now. It could also be possible that Sucker Punch may be working on a story expansion or some DLC for Ghost of Tsushima instead of an outright sequel. The developer has spent quite a long time working on the project and it's highly unlikely that it would move away so quickly.
Recently, Ghost of Tsushima also received a new multiplayer update called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. The multiplayer mode offers a co-op experience in which up to four players form a squad to take on specific missions.
With the PlayStation 5 launching next month, Ghost of Tsushima will also be taking advantage of the new powerful hardware. Sucker Punch has previously claimed that Ghost of Tsushima will run at 60FPS on the PS5 via the Game Boost feature.
Ghost of Tsushima is exclusively available on the PlayStation 4.
