Netflix released a promo of its upcoming revival of Gilmore Girls on Monday, June 27. The sneak peek of the show -- titled Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life -- features Parenthood actress Lauren Graham, who played Lorelai on the series.
Graham stands in what seems to be Stars Hollow’s town square holding up signs announcing the show will debut in countries like France, Italy, Argentina and Saudi Arabia. In the meantime, the entire series will debut on Netflix on July 1.
“Any place you watch Netflix, you can watch Gilmore Girls starting July 1. You may have heard that new episodes of Gilmore Girls are coming to Netflix later this year. We can’t wait,” Graham says in the video. “Maybe you’ve seen Gilmore Girls, or maybe you’ve never seen Gilmore Girls and always meant to watch it.”
The series — which will have four 90-minute episodes — will see the return of Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Melissa McCarthy (Sookie), Scott Patterson (Luke), Kelly Bishop (Emily), Sean Gunn (Kirk), Keiko Agena (Lane), David Sutcliffe (Christopher), Danny Strong (Doyle), Vanessa Marano (April), Rose Abdoo (Gypsy) and Liza Weil (Paris). New characters slated to appear are a Peruvian couple, Berta and Alejandro, and Lane’s twins, Stevie and Kwan. Bunheads stars Sutton Foster and Stacey Oristano are also slated to appear in the Netflix revival.
Palladino told TVLine the show’s protagonist, Rory, will be single when the show returns. “Our plan is to get as many of the lovely men back as possible,” said Sherman-Palladino. Matt Czuchry, Milo Ventimiglia and Jared Padalecki will return to play Logan Huntzberger, Jess Mariano and Dean, respectively.
Graham appropriately includes a warning in the promo: “Welcome to Stars Hollow. Careful, we talk fast.”
