While the new God of War title of 2018 may take a fairly sharp departure from what fans have come to expect from the series, the early promotional material suggests a truly thoughtful and immersive effort from the fine folks over at Sony Interactive. As we near the April release date, rumors via PlayStation Lifestyle reveal a Bulgarian retailer has leaked a limited edition God of War PlayStation 4 Pro bundle. Retailer Ozone promptly removed the listing since.
It makes sense, considering God of War has become synonymous with Sony over the years. The original God of War was released more than a decade ago and it quickly became a staple of the console, as it achieved distinction of 11th best-selling PlayStation 2 game of all time. In addition, it shares universal acclaim and adoration with its sequel; two games that are cited as the best in the genre with staggering frequency.
God of War (2018) doesn’t really feel like a God of War game, but that excites me. Ten years later, I don’t want to see a polished retread of mechanics and story beats we’ve already seen.
The game looks gorgeous, the voice acting is great and I love the idea of saddling the aged god with a defiant young son. Rumor has it Kratos will even get his famous twin blades back. Fingers crossed.
God of War PS4 arrives April 20. Assuming the rumours are true, will you be picking up a God of War PS4 Pro bundle? Let us know in the comments.
