A new demo for Gravity Rush 2 will debut this week, ahead of an animated short that bridges the gap between the first and second games in the series, giving Gravity Rush fans plenty to celebrate during the holiday season. The dual releases also put Gravity Rush 2 in a great position to head into 2017 with momentum and fan hype on its side.
Details on this week’s Gravity Rush 2 demo are scarce. According to the PlayStation Blog, the demo will include two gameplay paths, one for new Gravity Rush players and one for those who played the first game in the series. There’s currently no word on file size (for those who must monitor data usage), how long the demo will last or what portion of the Gravity Rush 2 story we’ll see. On the plus side, we don’t have to wait much longer to find out. The GR2 demo goes live on Thursday, just in time for the weekend, and will presumably remain available through launch.
A new teaser trailer for Gravity Rush the Animation ~Overture~, a 20-minute animated short that bridges the gap between Gravity Rush and GR2 , also debuted on Wednesday. The full video will debut Dec. 26 at 11 a.m. EST, but the new teaser should be more than enough for most fans to know whether or not they’ll be interested in watching Gravity Rush the Animation ~Overture~ in its entirety when it debuts next Monday.
For a closer look at the upcoming GR anime, take a few minutes to watch the new Gravity Rush Overture teaser from Sony Computer Entertainment and Studio Khara. Then head down to the comments section and let us know if you’re planning to check out the Gravity Rush 2 demo when it hits PSN on Thursday, Dec. 22.
Gravity Rush 2 is in development for PlayStation 4. The game debuts Jan. 20, 2017.
