It's 2016, so why are we still talking about GTA 5 Casino DLC rumors? Earlier this week, the official Rockstar Newswire shared some details regarding future content that are slated to arrive to GTA Online some time in the future.
"... Get ready for a lot more to come in 2016, including some massive, feature-rich updates to GTA Online in the weeks and months ahead," read the Newswire.
"In the stealing and dealing successor to Executives and Other Criminals, embark on further adventures in finance and felony as your Organization enters the lucrative and dangerous world of contraband trafficking."
GTA tipster Crewboss shared some clues in a Twitter post:
Via Crewboss, here are some of the sound bites that will reportedly make its way to Finance and Felony:
Finally, some of these sound bites were chopped from, or seem related to, some sound bites that were leaked back in 2013.
Obviously, word of new updates created immense buzz in the GTA forums. According to MrBossFTW (video below), contraband trafficking was an early element in GTA Online's design that was cut from the game. Apparently, the Finance and Felony updates aim to deliver that gameplay mechanic. More speculators went back to old game files to search for more clues.
Via a convoluted method of connecting dots, some GTA YouTubers have suggested that the upcoming GTA 5 Finance and Felony updates may finally deliver the long awaited Casino as well. On one hand, it's a shame to see a casino in Los Santos that never opened. On the other hand, there's no real evidence that casinos will arrive for Finance and Felony either.
As far as Crewboss is concerned, any GTA Online YouTuber that even suggests that casinos could arrive in a future DLC is flat-out wrong.
Of course, GTA 5 tipster Yan2295 chimed in as well:
