The upcoming GTA 5 Cunning Stunts DLC arrives Tuesday, July 12, and looks to be one of the most entertaining updates on GTA Online in a while. Stunt races across the Los Santos skyline and mind-bending loopy tubes, ramps, and speed strips make are just the tip of the iceberg– we're getting new cars, 13 in total, as well as new mods!
First up, Cunning Stunts introduces a tiny little hot hatch rally car that is reminiscent of a Fiat 500 rally car. Another compact rally car featured is a new off-road Lampadati, which looks like the legendary Lancia Stratos rally car of the '70s. Along the rally vein, we also have a new Obey rally vehicle based on the Audi Quattro S1. Finally, a "rally version" of the Declasse Tampa will also be featured in the update. Think Ken Block's one-off Hoonicorn Mustang.
Next, a new Progen will be added to the GTA vehicle roster, this time sporting design elements that are strikingly similar to the McLaren F1 LM GTR. Another new sports car that will join the new Progen is a sports car with looks inspired by the Toyota FT-1 Concept. With racing livery, the sports car shares some design cues with the Corvette C6.R as well. The last supercar looks like an endurance prototype racing car. The Rockstar Newswire didn't mention very much, but don't be surprised if the new supercar happens to be the new fastest car in the game.
On the truck side of things, a wild vehicle for off-road races features designs borrowed from real Pro 4 trucks. A trophy truck-style vehicle joins the Cunning Stunts DLC as well. While the trophy truck and Pro 4 truck could well be two variants of a similar vehicle, a closer look suggests the two trucks are completely different vehicles.
On the bike side of things, GTA Online Cunning Stunts delivers a Dakar-style dirt bike. Think Sanchez on steroids! Finally, a Harley Davidson-style cruiser with some unique suspension and tire combinations that make it ideal for stunts.
On the customization end, it looks like we'll get new tires for the stunt races, including rally style wheels, as indicated on the sidewall, as well as some racing slicks that are on the Prototype-style race car. An aesthetic feature seen on the Obey rally car is a smaller European style license plate on the front, while a more square American license plate is screwed on the rear. Of course, new liveries will be available for the vehicles. For the motorcycles, it looks like the riders feature matching apparel too.
