Rumors have been flying since a member of GTAforums.com came across an interesting photograph found on the portfolio of Adrian Page. Page is an artist at Rockstar Games, where he’s worked on GTA V. The photos mostly consist of screenshots taken in GTA V , but one certainly looks like it wasn’t taken in Los Santos.
As the pictures above show, a screenshot on Page’s portfolio is GTA IV’s Middle Park, but in GTA V’s engine. Before you get too excited about the possibilities of a Liberty City DLC coming to GTA V, let’s take a step back and look at this logically.
Looking at the screenshot, the grass and foliage textures look to be from the Xbox 360/PS3 version of GTA V. If Rockstar were to release any new DLC for GTA V, it would be coming to the Xbox One, PC and PS4.
So what is this screenshot of then? It’s most likely Rockstar wanted to test out the RAGE engine by porting over the GTA IV map and practicing with new techniques. This screenshot could be Page’s take on a favorite scene from Middle Park. Alternatively, it could have been intended content that got scrapped for one reason or another. Perhaps the DLC was in the works before Rockstar switched gears to bring out the Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions of GTA V.
Whatever the screenshot may have been for, it seems highly unlikely it isn’t going to be anything playable. Yes, Rockstar has stated in the past it is interested in making some kind of gigantic Grand Theft Auto world with all of the cities linked together, but that seems to be a project for the future, if ever.
As for actual, confirmed GTA content, we do know that the next GTA Online update is coming June 7. Called Further Adventures in Finance and Felony, the update will allow you to become the CEO of a criminal organization. You’ll be able to have a warehouse of contraband that you must protect and sell to make big profits.
So what do you think? Would you want to go back to Liberty City in GTA V? What else do you want to see for the future of the Grand Theft Auto franchise? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
