A new rumor from an analyst has speculated on how much Rockstar Games will charge for "Grand Theft Auto VI," one of the biggest games awaited by the gaming community. This follows previous rumors about how much Rockstar Games will charge for the upcoming game. Should these rumors be accurate, it'll hurt the wallet.

'GTA VI' Potential Launch Price

Various analysts and rumor sources have already speculated on how much Rockstar Games will charge for its upcoming AAA-rated game, "Grand Theft Auto VI," as it is now touted as one of the biggest game developments of the era.

Michael Pachter, managing director of equity research on Wedbush Securities (via VideoGamesChronicle), has claimed that "GTA VI" is expected to sell for around $100.

This is the same expected pricing for "Grand Theft Auto VI" for several months now, and this latest insight from the analyst only bolsters the belief about a massive price increase for big-named titles.

It has been alleged that Rockstar Games is expected to ask for almost twice the price of a current AAA-rated game because of the amount of work done for this upcoming sandbox title.

Moreover, it was noted by Pachter that one of the main reasons behind "Grand Theft Auto VI's" pricing is a specific component coming with the game, and that is "Grand Theft Auto Online."

However, players will somewhat receive a portion of that money as they will receive a chunk of the online game's currency for them to spend.

That being said, Pachter's analysis did not reveal how much Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games will give users as starting funds when buying "GTA VI," and it is important to note that there have been no official mentions of a "GTA Online" experience being tied to the sequel game.

Game Prices May Significantly Change

Previous rumors have already talked about the significant price increase expected from Rockstar Games' "GTA VI," with this $100-price tag already the topic of conversation for months now.

According to GameRant, the gaming industry is awaiting Rockstar's move towards "Grand Theft Auto VI's" pricing, and if it indeed sells the game for $100, other developers may follow.

It was also noted that while consoles, accessories, in-game currencies, items from the in-game shop, and more are increasing in prices over the years, the game's selling prices for its copies have not joined this trend.

That being said, the industry may only be waiting for a big name in the market to start this new standard, signaling a massive shift from developers to charge for more.

The good thing is that this price increase may benefit game development studios and their teams as they may be paid more because of the higher charge.
