Are you ready for a new event? Halo Infinite has launched the Fracture: Entrenched event, starting today, May 25, until June 1. This new event features a Dieselpunk-inspired Eaglestrike armor core as well as other themed rewards. There's also the free 30-tier Event Pass along with a limited-time playlist and event-specific challenges. This is the first of six appearances planned for Season 2.
A Quick Refresher
Those new to the game, "Fractures" are divergent Halo timelines or universes that have different aesthetics compared to the core canon. The best way to picture it is that Fractures have common elements with core canon but have been put in a distinct light or interpreted differently.
The goal of Fractures is to serve as the jumping-off point for new experiences, both in-game and out. Each one is pretty much an experiment not just in storytelling but also in art style.
Back in Season 1, the Fracture focused on the possibility of Spartans being samurai in an alternative universe where the different warlords united to fight against the Covenant barbarians.
The Entrenched Fracture
In this new Fracture, the world has been scoured with chemically-enhanced soldiers and superscience aether bombs. While the lands have been ruined, the Unified Nations Security Confederation follows blindly the orders of long-dead generals. Their sworn enemies are the zealots of the Covenant, which survived only as hordes of rad-poisoned mutants fighting over the remnants of a once-proud civilization.
To survive the front lines, players need the Eaglestrike energized plate. This can serve as good protection against radiation and even the Covenant plasmatron weaponry.
In the Trenches
The Fracture: Entrenched Event Pass is free and offers players-themed, limited-time rewards for playing multiplayer matches and completing event challenges.
For the duration of the event weeks, the Event Pass is going to appear in the season progress menu between the Battle Pass and Challenges. The Fracture: Entrenched Event Pass is available from May 24 to May 31.
Compared to other events, Fracture: Entrenched will appear six times within Season 2. That means there are a lot of chances to finish all 30 reward tiers of the Event Pass.
