Get ready to walk through the front doors of Hogwarts using your mobile device. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery puts you right in the middle of the magic when the game launches for iOS, Android and Amazon devices later this year.
Developed by Jam City, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will have players creating new characters to attend Hogwarts in the years before Harry Potter. Instead of Ron and Hermione, players will see Nymphadora Tonks and Bill Weasley wandering the halls. Players customize their character, learn spells, attend classes and make both friends and enemies. Players will also make a number of major decisions that influence their characters and their stories.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be playable at this year’s A Celebration of Harry Potter event held at Universal Studios Orlando. Along with game demos, attendees can also check out two panels hosted by developers at Jam City.
“Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is a role playing experience about magic, friendship, and life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,” Chris DeWolfe, the co-founder and CEO of Jam City, said in a press release. “We can’t wait to give fans a first look at the game at A Celebration of Harry Potter, and this spring players will be able to explore Hogwarts fully in their journey toward becoming a witch or wizard.”
Players will join one of the four houses, and progress through the years as a student. During time spent at Hogwarts, players will solve mysteries, unlock new locations to explore, discover new magical abilities and even pick your pet to join you on your adventures. There will be large story arcs to play through as well as smaller stories and relationship quests.
No specific release date for Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has been confirmed, but we do know the game will launch later this year. Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery will be available on iOS, Android and Amazon devices.
