As we get closer to the release of Hearthstone’s next expansion, Journey To Un’Goro , Blizzard is starting to show off some of the weirder cards in the set. In a new Hearthside Chat discussing the art of the expansion, we get to see three new, never before seen cards that remind me of the Flintstones .
Tortollan Primalist- I get that every Hearthstone set needs filler cards, but this one’s a bit ridiculous. For eight mana you are getting a 5/4, which makes Forbidden Shaping on turn eight a terrible idea, and a random spell that hits random targets. It’s unclear whether the “random targets” means that they can attack your minion or hero, but that seems highly likely. All I know is that if I’m drafting an Arena deck and get this guy as my Epic, I’ll be picking either one of the other two cards.
Spikeridged Steed- Give a minion 2/6 and Taunt for six mana; I’m liking that already. You also get a Stegadon when it dies, which makes using the card totally worth it. The Stegadon is a 2/6 with Taunt, like a mount for your minion. Paladin buffs are rarely played outside of Blessing Of Kings , but I see this guy really putting in some work. It’s a strong card that can give a weak minion some beefy stats, I’ll be trying to fit it into one of my decks.
Cornered Sentry - We all love Dirty Rat’s stats and value, but it can tend to give our opponents powerful minions. This warrior version of Gadgetzan’s grimiest goon gives your opponent three 1/1 raptors, which is almost nothing. Drop a Whirlwind or a Ravaging Ghoul afterwards and they literally get nothing while you have a cheap 2/5. Is this the return of Control Warrior?
