A new Horizon Zero Dawn trailer debuted over the weekend, featuring a behind-the-scenes look at the development team’s world-building process, narrated by Guerrilla Games managing director, Herman Hulst. We also get some insight into the design process from Horizon Zero Dawn’s art director, Jan-Bart Van Beek, who also used the trailer to confirm a few more small details about the game ahead of HZD’s February 2017 debut.

The new Horizon Zero Dawn trailer focuses on the world-building efforts undertaken by Guerrilla Games when preparing its first non-Killzone game in more than a decade. We get another look at the heavily-forested environments we’ve seen in numerous HZD trailers, including the PS4 Pro trailer that debuted back in September. But the new trailer also gives us our first look at some of the other environments we’ll encounter in Horizon, including new desert and mountain environments that will give the studio an excellent opportunity to show off the possibilities of its weather tech. Hulst and Van Beek also discuss talk about how a decidedly different gameplay style, action-RPG instead of FPS, forced Guerrilla to rethink its approach to world design.

For a closer look at Horizon Zero Dawn, and some of the environments we’ll be exploring when the game debuts next year, take a few minutes to check out the new HZD trailer from Sony and Guerrilla Games. Then head down to the comments section and let us know if you’re planning to buy Horizon Zero Dawn when it debuts next year.

Horizon Zero Dawn is in development exclusively for PS4. The game debuts Feb. 28, 2017.
