It holds true that Invictus Gaming is hailed as one of the best esports organizations out there. Unfortunately, its campaign over the last few seasons in competitive Dota 2 has been nothing but unsuccessful. In a bid to compete at the highest level in the extremely difficult Chinese region, the team has decided to sign Kaka.
Now that the new season of Dota Pro Circuit is just around the corner, pro teams are starting to look for better talents to finalize their roster. Invictus Gaming, in particular, has announced the inclusion of veteran Hu “Kaka” Liangzhi. With Kaka’s experience and seasoned talent, the team might just be able to crack the code.
Kaka was released by Keen Gaming when the team started shuffling players in and out of its roster. The decision to do so eventually left him as one of the top targets on a highly lucrative Chinese Dota 2 market. And since Invictus Gaming also found itself reshuffling its roster, the scenario became a prime opportunity for the organization to bring a player who’s played at a very competitive level for several top tier teams.
Kaka is joining a roster that only has one other player who was fortunate enough to attend at least one The International. And, as such, Kaka is expected to step into a leadership role in Invictus Gaming. As of this writing, however, it remains a mystery whether he will become the captain of the team for the upcoming season. But if you are to look at it from a technical perspective, it does make sense for him to take the role.
Outside of his recent run with Keen Gaming at The International 2019, Kaka also attended three Internationals with Newbee, with his highest placement being second at TI7. On that team, he was known for playing a very difficult position, one that is a hybrid of four and five positions. With Invictus, he is going to be on a roaming support.
The arrival of Kaka solidifies the main roster of Invictus gaming for the upcoming 2019-20 Dota Pro Circuit.
