Don’t hold your breath for a speedy delivery if you’ve already purchased, or want to purchase, the jet black iPhone 7 . Reports indicate manufacturers are having difficulties producing the handset in mass quantities.
The handset is experiencing major production issues, according to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo . At this time about 60 to 70 percent of the handsets are making it through production passing Apple’s quality standard. Reports also indicate shipping facilities have had issues getting iPhone 7 handsets to consumers because of weather delays and mechanical problems.
The iPhone 7 has been available since Sept. 16, but the glossy jet black color option sold out even before launch, during the device’s preorder period. There will be a three- to five-week waiting period for those purchasing the jet black iPhone 7 now, according to Apple’s website. The jet black iPhone 7 Plus won’t ship until November.
The smartphone is available in extremely limited quantities in stores. In North America there appears to be some availability in Ontario and Montreal, according to iStockNow.
