After Jeremy Renner's forgettable Bourne Legacy, I was prepared for the death of my favorite spy thriller/action movie franchise. But now that Matt Damon and The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum director Paul Greengrass are partnering once again for a fifth movie, I couldn't be more excited. Jason Bourne arrives in theaters July 29 and Universal has just released three preview videos to get us hyped ahead of the release!
The first clip features Matt Damon's Jason Bourne in Las Vegas, where he must chase a SWAT van driven by Asset, played by actor Vincent Cassel. The armored SWAT vehicle careens into Bourne's Dodge Charger and sends it flying towards oncoming traffic. Bourne manages to dodge the cars and hope over the island to get right back on Asset's tail.
In the second clip, Agent Heather Lee, played by Alicia Vikander, get Bourne on the phone and attempt a negotiation why a video feed shows them exactly where Bourne is on the screen. CIA director Robert Dewey, played by Tommy Lee Jones, picks up the phone and tells Bourne that his father was a patriot and it would be a shame to his father's legacy if he tries to take the agency down.
In the third and final preview, Bourne takes advantage of a chaotic protest to knock down a police motorcycle and steal it. Bourne races for Nicky Parsons, played by Julia Stiles. who is about to get intercepted by a number of CIA operatives. Just as the agents are in position to take down Parsons, Bourne fires a gas canister and swiftly takes down an unmarked black van, clothelines an agent on foot, while Parson takes down the last agent with a club. Bourne doors an agent trying to get out of the black van for safe measure and rides away with Parsons.
Star Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass are joined by Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones. Julia Stiles reprises her role as Nicky Parsons. Jason Bourne arrives in theaters July 29.
