Kevin Smith has had his hands in all things nerdy. He’s written Batman and Green Hornet comics, directed an episode of The Flash television show and now wants to direct an episode of Daredevil .
Talking with IGN , Smith said: “I feel very at home in that Flash world, so much so that I'd love to do the others. I even told [Marvel chief creative officer] Joe Quesada - we worked on Daredevil together back in the day, I wrote it, he drew it - I said, 'Dude, I want to direct Daredevil, man. That'd be wild to be able to do it in real-life - let's co-direct it, that'd be cool, just like we did the book. We could co-direct an episode and then, like, take the passion from the page to the screen.'”
Marvel has another Netflix television show, The Defenders , in the works and Smith would love to work on that as well. "You know, they're gearing up now for The Defenders , if I can get a piece of that Defenders mini-series holy s**t, could you imagine, dude? Because then you're working with multiple suits at once, that'd be phenomenal,” Smith said.
I think a Kevin Smith directed episode of The Defenders would be perfect. Give him some guys like The Black Knight or Valkyrie to play with and see what shenanigans he can think up. Smith works best when everything’s goofy; Clerks and Mallrats will always be my favorite Smith movies. As long as he promises not do anything like Tusk ; dear god, was that movie terrible.
Smith is currently promoting his newest movie Yoga Hosers , which will premiere in Europe on June 21 at the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
