Developer 1C Entertainment has just announced that King’s Bounty 2, sequel to the renowned classical turn-based RPG franchise King’s Bounty, has been delayed yet again, this time to August 24, 2021.
Originally slated for release back in 2020, King’s Bounty 2 was delayed to 2021 much to the disappointment of the franchise’s many fans. Unfortunately, 1C Entertainment delayed King’s Bounty 2 once more, according to an article. Producer Denis Maltzev noted that the game was complete, but the studio wanted to spend more time polishing the overall experience through playtesting and balancing.
Despite having released several installments to the King’s Bounty franchise over the years, King’s Bounty 2 is 1C Entertainment’s first attempt at a true sequel. King’s Bounty 2 promises to modernize the franchise, changing the game significantly to bring it up to par with modern titles. For one thing, we’re getting fewer large-scale battles and more tactical, small-scale skirmishes. We’re also getting new mechanics like the line of sight, dynamic environments, and more verticality. That said, many of what made King’s Bounty such a great franchise is still present - true to formula - so there’s going to be plenty of great plot, hex-grid turn-based gameplay, and adventures to be had along the way.
King’s Bounty 2 is an upcoming strategy RPG title for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games. Fans of the franchise can expect King’s Bounty 2 to give a new, unique gaming experience with better, more volumetric environments, immersive plot, and hefty player decisions that make an impact on the world of Antara.
