Developer 1C Entertainment has just announced that their previously announced turn-based tactics title King’s Bounty 2, which was set to be released in 2020, has been delayed. The game is now set to launch in March 2021 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Also, 1C Entertaiment has confirmed that Deep Silver will now be taking over the game’s publishing duties.
King’s Bounty 2 is the sequel to the acclaimed fantasy series that puts players in the roles of one of three heroes – each with their own unique story –to change the fate of the realms of Antara. Since the mysterious blight has ravaged the lands of Antara, numerous refugees from affected regions have all fled to the Kingdom of Nostria. With issues regarding shortages of food and resources arising, and with blight-distorted creatures roaming the countryside and inching closer and closer to the kingdom’s door steps, it is now up to the player to make the choices necessary to lead the fight for survival and save the land.
King’s Bounty 2 plays out like your typical role-playing game, but leans towards a more realistic point-of-view. Players will be bombarded with difficult moral choices that will have lasting effects on the future of Antara. These choices can be made not just through dialogue options, but also through the actions that players make on the battlefield.
As for its combat, King’s Bounty 2 employs a turn-based battle system which utilizes the game’s now realistic and volumetric battle grounds. These locations for combat contain several obstacles and items such as ravines and hills, to wagons and other debris. Depending on how they're utilized, these obstacles can either be advantageous or detrimental to one’s success. At the center of it all will be one of three characters that the players can choose from, each with their own unique stories and ideals. Depending on the character and the choices one makes, NPC interactions may result in a positive or negative impact.
King’s Bounty 2 will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in March 2021.
