While Chapter 4 of King’s Quest released today, it seems many can’t play King Graham’s latest adventure. Oddly enough, the chapter doesn’t seem to be included in the season pass, at least on Xbox One.
When booting up King’s Quest, Chapter 4 appears with a message saying “Available now.” Clicking on the option to start downloading and playing the chapter doesn’t work, instead you are brought to the Xbox Store page.
Despite the Xbox Store stating I own the King’s Quest: The Complete Collection, King’s Quest Chapter 4 isn’t included with the bundle. It is instead offered, by itself, for $9.99. The listing for King’s Quest Chapter 4 even mentions to not buy the chapter if you own the season pass or complete edition, so clearly something is wrong here.
Looking up King’s Quest on the Xbox store, Chapter 4 is not currently included in the bundle for King’s Quest: The Complete Edition like Chapters 2 and 3 are. It is included on the PlayStation Store, but there’s no thumbnail for the game listing as of right now.
This doesn’t seem to be a one-off issue either. Many fans have taken to the Sierra Games Facebook page to post about issues downloading the new chapter. Those who seem to have downloaded the game are also experiencing issues loading it. One person even reported King Graham being invisible once the game loaded up.
The company has started responding to posts, saying they made a few errors when updating. The problems are known and fixes are in the works. According to Sierra, Steam users should see things working starting right around now, while PlayStation players may not see a fix until 7 p.m. EDT. There has been no mention of a timeframe for Xbox players yet.
