A new action adventure game has been announced by publisher Curve Digital (Human Fall Flat) and developer Sky9 Games (Strike Force Heroes, Raze). Titled A Knight’s Quest, the open world action adventure game will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this fall.
The game follows the story of Rusty: a well-meaning, kind-hearted, and clumsy adventurer. Due to his mistakes, he accidentally starts a chain of events that threatens to destroy the whole world. In order to correct his mistakes and undo his wrongs, he will have to go through a number of challenges to prove himself by solving mind-melting puzzles, fight challenging enemies, defeat huge bosses, and platform his way through a vast and majestic open world setting.
An official trailer has been released for A Knight’s Quest which showcases its gameplay mechanics, and its aesthetics. At first look, one can’t help but see similarities of its gameplay elements with genre heavyweights such as Breath of the Wild. These similarities include platforming mechanics, the combat system (sword fighting, etc.) and elaborate world traversal like rail-grinding, platform hopping, and snowball rolling.
All of that said, the combined mechanics seem to mesh together quite well, and what’s interesting is that A Knight’s Quest seems to have inherited Human Fall Flat’s quirky charm and appeal. Let’s hope that the final product is as engaging as the trailer makes it out to be.
A Knight’s Quest will make its way soon to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC this fall. Curve Digital has confirmed that at launch it will retail for $24.99.
