A brand-new virtual reality game will be launching soon for multiple platforms. Developer and publisher AMATA KK announced that Last Labyrinth, the escape-the-room virtual reality title, will be made available soon for the Playstation VR, HTC Vive, Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, and Windows Mixed Reality Headsets on November 13.
Last Labyrinth's plot follows the player’s journey to escape a sentient and merciless mansion whilst accompanied by a girl that refuses to talk. Filled with puzzles of all sorts, players must work smart and fast to escape the mansion.
Last Labyrinth’s development team is pretty star-studded, to say the least. The production is spearheaded by Hiromichi Takahashi, director and producer of the acclaimed Doko Demo Issyo and co- creator of Toro (the Sony Cat). He is accompanied by co-director Tetsuya Watanabe, who is known for his works as a game designer on Puppeteer and The Last Guardian. Animation is led by Atsuko Fukuyama, who worked on ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. As for the environment design, this is headed by Michiko Kusaba, who worked on landscape design for Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec and Gran Turismo 4. Lastly, sound design will fall under Takuya Hanaoka, who worked on Monster Rancher and Super Robot Wars. A summary of the team can be read below:
Its Steam page also includes a brief trailer of the game that shows the game’s level design and aesthetics. Right now, it’s not confirmed yet whether Last Labyrinth will be leaning towards a more mystery-thriller vibe or a psychological horror tone. Personally, I’m hoping for the latter.
Last Labyrinth will be out on November 13 and can be purchased for $39.99 on PS4 and PC.
