League of Legends: Cho’Gath and Viego Buffed in Patch 13.4

League of Legends received a new update recently. Patch 13.4 brought a lot of balancing changes, most notably to Viego and Cho’Gath.

According to the League of Legends dev team, Cho’Gath hasn’t been quite popular in the current meta for two reasons. First, his damage falls off significantly in the late game. Second, his abilities just cost way too much mana that he cannot stay on the map after a single clash. To make Cho’Gath feel better to play, some of his abilities now have their mana costs reduced in Patch 13.4.

Rupture’s mana cost has been reduced from 60 to 50, allowing Cho’Gath to execute this ability frequently. Feral Scream's mana cost has also decreased to 70/75/80/85/90 (previously (70/80/90/100/110).

Furthermore, Rupture’s magic damage has increased from 80/135/190/245/300 (+100% AP) to 80/140/200/260/320 (+100% AP).

Viego has not been picked up by many LoL players lately, so the team made some changes to bring his power levels up to a more considerable level. His basic attacks empowered by the Blade of the Ruined King ability can now critically strike.

Additionally, Heartbreaker’s damage calculation has changed from 12/16/20% (+3% per 100 bonus AD) of the target's missing health to 12/16/20% (+5% per 100 bonus AD) of the target's missing health.

It looks like the Ruined King will become more formidable thanks to this update, especially if players are going for those high-risk/high-reward builds.
