The midseason update for League of Legends is here. Patch 13.10 is mainly focused on balancing adjustments for certain heroes and items. But there is one item in particular that deserves a special mention and it is the newly buffed Guinsoo's Rageblade.
More Powerful Than Ever
Guinsoo's Rageblade received several notable changes in Patch 13.10 which make it so much more appealing for hybrid damage champions in League of Legends.
First of all, the attack speed bonus it grants is reduced from 45% to 25%. However, Guinsoo's Rageblade now provides a flat 30 increase to attack damage and ability power.
Next, its Wrath and Seething Strike unique passives are reworked. Wrath makes attacks apply 30 magic damage on-hit that can balloon to 150 by converting your critical strike chance. Now, there are a couple of things to note here. One, Wrath cannot benefit from more than 100% critical strike chance. And two, Wrath's on-hit damage conversion is also affected by critical strike damage modifiers.
Meanwhile, Seething Strike lets basic attacks grant 8% increased attack speed that stacks up to four times for a maximum of 32%. While fully stacked, every third attack applies your on-hit effects twice.
And as cherry on top, Guinsoo's Rageblade now has a mythic passive where it empowers each of your other legendary items with 5% armor penetration and 6% magic penetration.
Because of Guinsoo's Rageblade buffs, the developers rebalanced some champions that will likely use this item, including Akshan, Kalista, Kindred, and Vayne. You can find the balancing adjustments below:
Akshan
- Passive: Dirty Fighting
- Magic Damage on Third Stack: 10 to 165 (based on level) > 10 to 165 (based on level) (+ 60% AP)
- Shield Value: 40 to 280 (+35% bonus AD), scaling linearly with champion level > 40 to 280 (+35% bonus AD), scaling non-linearly, mirroring base stat growth. (Note: This is functionally about a 10% shield reduction for the early and mid game.)
- Avengerang
- Bonus Movement Speed Upon Hitting An Enemy Champion: 40% > 40% (+5% per 100 AP)
Kalista
- Rend
- Slow: 10/18/26/34/42% > 10/18/26/34/42% (+5% per 100 AP)
