Patch 12.19 for League of Legends just made its way into the live server. Developer Riot Games nerfed only two champions this time around, and both are junglers. These are Master Yi and Rek’Sai, and we will cover the changes made to them.
Rek’Sai
The queen of jungle, Rek’Sai, is a problem to deal with, especially in the early game. Once she starts getting a lead in the early game, she snowballs incredibly hard that her ganks are nightmares for laners. To balance this champion, Riot reduced her base attack damage to make her ganks less lethal in the early game.
Base Stats
Base Attack Damage: From 64 to 61.
While this will reduce the damage dealt by Rek’Sai, her kit for ganking is the same. So, don’t underestimate the queen of the jungler if you see her, particularly if you’re alone.
Master Yi
The recent changes to Master Yi’s abilities made him a top-tier jungler across all ranks, and Riot found the champion dealing too much damage. So, they adjusted his stats to tone down his damage.
Base Stats
Attack Damage Growth: From 2.5 to 2.2.
The nerf to Master Yi’s Attack Damage Growth, reduced by 0.3 per level, will take away some of his damage and overall strength. But it shouldn’t hit him hard to a point where he becomes too weak to do anything.
Wuju Style (E)
Bonus True Damage: From 30/35/40/45/50 (+35% bonus AD) to 30/35/40/45/50 (+30% bonus AD).
The Wuju Style ability does great damage to all types of enemies, especially tanks as Yi can melt through them. In this update, the AD scaling is down by 5%, but the flat values for each ability rank are the same. So, this nerf should only affect the scaling ratio when items start to come in.
Hopefully, these changes should reduce the number of times these champions are banned in solo queue.
