So that board game Riot was working on that got leaked a while back has just been officially announced. Mechs vs. Minions is a two- to four-person strategy game where players take control of a yordle in a fancy new mech. Ziggs, Tristana, Heimerdinger and Corki are all piloting some fancy pieces of machinery and are ready to blow stuff up.
Unlike League of Legends , Mechs vs. Minions has an actual storyline. Rumble, the original Yordle in a mechanical suit, has invited these yordles to learn how to pilot their own mechanical suits. Runeterra is in trouble, and the only way their world can be saved is by slaughtering dozens of minions in ten pulse-pounding missions. Each mission will take about 60 to 90 minutes to complete, so there’s plenty to do.
Here’s Rumble explaining how the game works:
Mechs vs. Minions contains over 100 minion models, dice, a bomb-like power source miniature and a ton of other cool goodies, all for $75. You can’t pre-order the game, you’ll have to wait until Oct 13 at 2 p.m. EDT to try it out.
The iDigitalTimes staff will be getting its hands on the game early, and will have some great interviews coming in the next couple of days.
