The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release on March 4, according to leaks found on the official French Nintendo site. This information comes from a thread on the Nintendo NX subreddit, started by user DalekCydonia.
As we can see, this photo shows three Breath of the Wild amiibo, all with the release date of 04/03/2017. Reminder to our American readers that European dates go day/month/year, so this date is March 4, not April 3. While the leak was originally spotted on the French Nintendo site, other users are finding clues to a March 4 release on the Austrian and UK versions of the Nintendo site as well.
iDigitalTimes can confirm that if you go to this page for the Zelda amiibo and continue to refresh the page, you'll see one of the Breath of the Wild amiibo pop up eventually. After two or three refreshes, the Guardian amiibo popped up, as seen below. Clicking on the links will take you to the product page for each amiibo, listing a generic "2017" release.
It should be noted that even if this leak proves to be legit and not some mistake by Nintendo, this doesn't mean Breath of the Wild will actually come out on March 4. We've seen amiibo released on different days than the games they are for in the past, and it could be true in this instance. The date of March 4 is a Saturday as well, not the normal Friday we typically see with Nintendo releases. The date might be shifted, given it's a European release, but it's still odd to see.
If this leak does prove to be true, it opens up a whole other set of questions. If Breath of the Wild comes out March 4, does this mean the NX will be out before then? Could this also be the release date for the new console? We have plenty of questions, but will have to wait on Nintendo for concrete answers. Until then, you can bet there will still be people online combing through everly line of code they can find for more hints.
So what do you think? Do you believe these leaks from Nintendo are real? Do you think this release date could point towards the release of the NX? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
