We just got our first look at the brand new Legend of Zelda game, Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild. During the big reveal, Twitch kind of screwed up the sound, so trying to listen to Reggie Fil Aime (Director of Nintendo America) talk was slightly more ear-grating than usual, though he did describe the game as “Easily one of the biggest experiences ever created by Nintendo.” Fil Aime also said that the game will be coming out for both Wii U and the next Nintendo system, the NX.
In the trailer, we see Link manipulate the environment around him, pushing boulders onto enemies and paragliding through the air. The game itself is gorgeous, taking inspiration from Skyward Sword and adapting it to modern consoles.
It’s an open-world Zelda game, something never before attempted by the franchise. You can chop down trees, clear brushes with fire and cook. Every Zelda game needs a gimmick, and this time around it’s object manipulation. Link can pull out a little blue trinket, known as a Sheikah Slate, to create items out of thin air.
