CAUTION: Legends of Tomorrow spoilers!

Legends of Tomorrow took a brief break. Time Master Rip Hunter and his team of Legends will return March 31, but not before the CW gives us a few hints about what’s in store for the rest of the season.

Similar to Arrow’s, we’ve got a midseason sizzle of sorts. There’s no freshly covered, ominous grave scene this time. Just tons of time-traveling and a few exciting easter eggs. The Vandal Savage story moves forward. Well, actually backward, to the Wild West. Ray disguises himself as John Wayne, Salvation’s new sheriff. Rip gets clocked by an old friend, Jonah Hex, DC Comics’ surly anti-hero.

Rip Hunter also takes the legends to the distant future where Captain Cold sports some Google Glass-looking eyewear. “We have no choice but to stop Savage in 2147, or die trying,” Rip Hunter tells Team Legends. The sizzle teases that the Time Masters send out an assassin to travel back in time to kill the younger versions of the Legends team. The Atom becomes Mega Atom after discovering some mysterious big foot-looking footprints. Finally, there are still no sign of Heat Wave, which is particularly fishy. Maybe Captain Cold did actually kill him.

Ray Palmer must be in Star City at some point because we get a good look at a much younger Captain Lance. There’s also a shot where Ray visits Felicity, but she’s still in her wheelchair. Continuing the ties to Arrow, White Canary appears to be training Ra’s Al Ghul’s daughter, Talia. Presumably, this happens when she’s stuck in the 1950’s as the next episode, “Left Behind,” synopsis suggests.

Legends of Tomorrow episode 9, “Left Behind,’ will pick back up with White Canary, Ray Palmer and Hawkgirl stuck in 1958 after Chronos stormed the Wave Rider and forced Rip Hunter to take off with only Firestorm and Captain Cold aboard. White Canary will rejoin the League of Assassins, and as Arrow fans know, there’s no League of Assassins without Ra's al Ghul. Matt Noble will return to reprise his role as The Demon's Head.

Watch the next episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow March 31 on the CW at 8 p.m.
