Madden NFL 21 announced that it’s set to offer what could be the most realistic football simulation experience yet. With the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S, there’s no question that Madden can set a new standard when it comes to authenticity and realism.
To make each game even more realistic, Madden NFL 21 is upping the ante as it is using real-world athlete data through the NFL’s Next Gen Stats. Every time an NFL match is played, real-life player movement data is captured through the sensors that are worn by players. This is what Next Gen Stats is all about.
Once data is gathered, it’s then fed into Madden 21 in order to drive fluid animation selection that’s based on how players actually move. This data makes thing like running, cutting, and even changing direction on the field look and feel more realistic. This should allow for what could be the most lifelike player movement in the history of the franchise.
In a statement, Madden NFL 21 Executive Producer Seann Graddy revealed that for each console transition year, the team is always excited to look into what new technology can offer. The developers then use that to offer new and improved experiences for fans. He added that Madden NFL 21 represents “a major step forward in the future of football gaming with the addition of real NFL player data from Next Gen Stats.” By making use of new hardware from both Microsoft and Sony, he went on to say that the team managed to create “an incredibly immersive game that delivers the most authentic and realistic NFL experience players will have ever felt.”
It’s not just actual play, as the Next Gen stats also power the replays. Expect this new data to give players a breakdown of key plays. This should give players that strategic advantage in order to make the needed adjustments to their game plan based on what’s been happening in the game.
These are just some of the many new features that players can expect from Madden NFL 21 for next-gen consoles.
Players that have already bought Madden NFL 21 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One can upgrade to the next-gen console version for free. Players can even carry over their progress and content in Madden Ultimate Team, The Yard, and Franchise modes. Players can buy the standalone NXT LVL editions of Madden NFL 21 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S for $69.99.
