Mafia 3 was one of our favorite games of 2016, despite a handful of shortcomings, and a new demo of the debut project from Hangar 13 is available on PC and consoles to show fans of each platform what they've been missing. And that’s just the start of this week’s Mafia 3 news, which also includes a new expansion and a hefty discount for the game.
The new Mafia 3 demo lets players complete the game’s first act; more than enough content to meet Lincoln Clay, along with several of his accomplices, and get an idea of the struggles he’ll face in the campaign. 2K and Hangar 13 say demo progress will be transferable, for anyone who takes advantage of the game’s new 50 percent discount ( 60 on Amazon ) at select retailers, and there’s even a new trailer for the Mafia 3 demo.
2K and Hangar 13 are also celebrating the release of Faster, Baby!, the first of several planned Mafia 3 expansions, now that’s available for purchase/download on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The new add-on introduces all sorts of content to the open-world game, including new vehicles and weapons, and gives Clay a brand new environment to explore.
Here’s the official description, via Steam:
In Sinclair Parish, a rural town west of the Bayou, Sheriff “Slim” Beaumont rules on a platform of fear and violence. When a Civil Rights leader is murdered, and other activists are targeted, Lincoln joins forces with sister-in-arms Roxy Laveau on an explosive mission to expose the town’s corrupt underbelly. Engage in high-octane car chases, epic new military-grade combat tactics and seedy operations to bring Slim and his corrupt Sheriff’s Department to justice.
