The Nintendo Switch lineup at launch is looking very impressive, but the Mario Kart game shown in the Switch reveal trailer will not be a part of that Day 1 launch.
According to a report from Emily Rogers, AKA Arcade Girl 64, the Nintendo Switch version of Mario Kart will release within the first three months of the console's launch. However, this new version of Mario Kart 8 will contain all of the Wii U content and DLC.
But Mario Kart 8 Switch will also feature exclusive content, including brand new tracks, playable characters and a new-and-improved battle mode.
The new characters aren’t a surprise, considering the Nintendo Switch reveal trailer showed King Boo, who wasn’t available in Mario Kart 8 . The trailer also showed that each kart will have two item slots instead of the usual one. Whether this aspect is a part of the new Battle Mode or in all aspects of the game is yet unknown.
We have reached out to Nintendo for comment on all the Nintendo Switch game lineup rumors and we will update as soon as we learn more.
