There are a ton of iconic heroes that you can play in NetEase Games' highly popular "Marvel Rivals," including the powerful Russian mutant Magik.
This particular character has a set of unique abilities that make her a formidable foe and a valuable ally. She is a Duelist that has a high skill ceiling and was designed to be somewhat difficult to use but comes with great options.
This guide aims to help players learn the basics of using Magik's abilities, ultimate, and playstyle to make full use of her kit against their enemies.
The main thing about Magik is that she is more catered towards veterans who have already mastered the basics of "Marvel Rivals."
Magik's Abilities
Magik's abilities in "Marvel Rivals" were designed to support her duelist role on the battlefield. Her basic attack is Soulsword, which is a swinging attack that deals 65 damage in a 6.5m range in front of her, according to Dual Shockers.
The character's secondary attack is known as Magik Slash, which lets her charge a projectile that will travel in a straight line. This particular attack has a damage range of 45 to 90 damage.
Magik's first active ability is Stepping Discs, which lets her teleport a short distance and become invincible during the animation. After she exits, she has three seconds to use one of two combo abilities.
Her next active ability is known as Umbral Incursion, which is a forward dash with a range of 16m that will launch enemies hit. The slash from this ability deals 85 damage. Magik can use two combo abilities when exiting Stepping Discs: Eldritch Whirl and Demon's Rage.
Eldritch Whirl lets you click the primary attack key to spin with the Soulsword to deal 45 damage in a circle around Magik.
This can also cleave through multiple enemies. On the other hand, Demon's Rage uses the secondary attack key to summon a demon imp that will attack enemy heroes with a 20-damage per hit attack.
Magik's passive ability is called Limbo's Might, which converts 30% of the damage that is inflicted into Bonus Health. This lets you get a maximum of 150 health, which increases the character's total health to 400.
The character's Team-Up ability is Disc Master, which can be done alongside Black Panther and Psylocke. This grants a 15% damage boost to all characters and lets Black Panther and Psylocke pass through Magik's Limbo portals, Game Rant said.
Magik's Ultimate
This "Marvel Rivals" character's ultimate ability is Darkchild, which is a transformation ability where she releases her inner demon to empower all of her abilities. During this time, Soulsword's swings will hit three times each and tick 35 damage with a 10 range.
On the other hand, Umbral Incursion will increase the dash distance to 20m and its damage to 115. Magik Slash will have its projectile damage increased to 90 to 180 and reduce its cooldown by three seconds.
Eldritch Whirl will instead deal three ticks of 35 damage in a circle around Magik. Lastly, Demon's Rage will have the imp you summon deal 25 damage per hit instead of 20. The Darkchild Ultimate lasts for 12 seconds.
Tips for Playing Magik
When you decide to use Magik in "Marvel Rivals," you have to be prepared to get up close and personal with enemies. While slow, Soulsword is your bread-and-butter method to deal damage to the other team.
Another key ability for Magik users is Stepping Discs, as it lets you dive in and out of combat whenever you need to. It is also an effective way of travel while also giving you more options to take enemies down.
Umbral Incursion and Eldritch Whirl are used to disrupt the enemy team by knocking or launching enemies up.
Magik is perfectly suited for chaotic engagements and is a reliable ally as she can be somewhat of a tank thanks to her passive ability, according to Hardcore Gamer.
