Capcom just released Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. Players can buy it now for their Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.

During its peak, the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise was among the best-regarded fighting game series. Almost every single arcade store had various machines that players could use to play this amazing crossover fighting series.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics

The recently released Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics brings back six of the era-defining fighting games. It also includes the historic brawler that started the core partnership between Capcom and Marvel.

The collection presents every single game in a way that celebrates their storied past but still breathes new life into them with various modern features. This resulted in a package that reintroduces the titles to a new age of players, according to GameSpot.

Each of the collection's six fighting games are the arcade versions and there are no console ports included. Many fans believe that this was the right decision as each title represents the purest form it took in history.

The games run the same as intended from back in the 1990s with a few frame-rate issues being resolved in the modern collection. This also exposes which of these classics are showing their age and which can still compete against modern titles.

The collection also makes some enhancements across the titles, including custom match and spectator features. There is also a museum, music player, various display filters, one-button special moves, and many more, said Marvel.

A Variety of Modern Features

All of the games in the collection also get online ranked, casual, and lobby matches for those who want to test their skills with the best in the world. This feature can also be used if you want to have a match with friends or family members who are far away.

Capcom's update about the launch of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics noted the studio's excitement to bring the game to players. It added that the crossover fighting collection will come to Xbox One next year.

The game is set to release on Sept. 12, 2024, for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. It will have a digital edition that will be available for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch users starting from Nov. 22, 2024.

The company added that Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is scheduled to come out in 2025 and will be available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, according to Gematsu.
