It’s official: Square Enix has just announced that its hit action role-playing brawler Marvel’s Avengers will finally be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Even better news: if you already own the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, you’ll get Marvel’s Avengers on your new-gen consoles for free.
With PS5 and Xbox Series X editions of Marvel’s Avengers coming soon, fans can expect a handful of great features heading their way. One feature lets you cross-save and crossplay between console generations, so players across these platforms can all assemble and play together.
Back in June of last year, PlayStation also announced that the game was going to be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X as a free upgrade if you purchased the title on PS4 and Xbox One.
Alongside the PS5 and Xbox Series X release of Marvel’s Avengers, the title will also be receiving a new update and a content release, namely the long-awaited Hawkeye DLC that will finally allow fans of the Marvel franchise to play as their favorite archer avenger in his very own operation Hawkeye - Future Imperfect.
Operation Hawkeye – Future Imperfect features more than just a new avenger. It includes a powerful villain as well, and it's none other than Maestro. For those who don't know, Maestro is a version of Hulk who has been driven mad by an apocalyptic world. So, expect him to possess the same brains and brawn of the original Hulk.
