Here is some good news for Steam Users. Metro Exodus will launch on Steam next week, as its one-year exclusivity deal with Epic Game Store comes to an end. The game will be made available on Steam on February 15. Here are the exact regional release times:
- 00:00 EST
- 5:00 GMT/UTC
- 6:00 CET
- 6:00 AEDT
You will be able to purchase the base game and the expansion pack on Steam at launch. The expansion pack contains two DLC releases. The first one, known as Two Colonels, is already out and the second one, Sam’s Story, will release within a week. The first DLC puts players in the shoes of Colonel Khlebnikov, where he experiences the last days of life in Novosibirsk. The second DLC focuses on a US marine named Sam who was in Moscow while the bomb dropped. The objective is to find your way back to the US in the hopes of seeing your family alive. You can also purchase each DLC separately.
Metro Exodus is considered a hit in terms of both sales and critics. The atmosphere, music, and graphics were especially praised. Even though Metro Exodus was made as a semi-open world experience, it is still able to recapture that claustrophobic feel present in its predecessors.
But it was not all good news for Metro Exodus. The game got a lot of heat from fans after its publisher announced that Metro Exodus would be exclusive to Epic Game Store for one year. The decision was made because of a more favorable revenue split given by EGS compared to Steam. Fans did not take kindly to this as the game was already available to pre-order on Steam, and was then abruptly taken off. Several users review bombed the game as a result.
So what do you think? Are you interested in Metro: Exodus? Will you play it on Steam or did you already finished it via EGS? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
