In celebration of the first live-action adaptation of the famed sandbox game, the developers are now giving away a free DLC for "Minecraft" to all players.
This new "Aotearoa New Zealand" DLC is now here to change your mind about what the movie adaptation has to offer. Before the film drops, users may now take a gander at its filming location in-game.
'Minecraft's' Free Movie DLC Is Now Available
Mojang Studios has officially announced a new DLC, which is set to transport gamers to the neighboring country of the Land from Down Under.
The new downloadable content on "Minecraft" features the "Aotearoa New Zealand" DLC, which looks to take users on a new adventure to explore the natural wonders of the land.
The developers are now inviting gamers to virtually visit this are, which resembled New Zealand, the filming location of the adaptation. Moreover, Mojang Studios also wants its players to experience the Māori culture, which it also integrated into this latest downloadable content available for the "Bedrock Edition."
Mojang said that this new DLC was made in partnership with Tourism New Zealand and Warner Bros. Players who own the "Minecraft: Bedrock Edition" may claim the free downloadable content from the "Minecraft" Marketplace now, and it only requires users to have a legitimate copy of the game.
'Minecraft' Movie Adaptation
According to the developers, this latest DLC is the first-ever destination DLC for "Minecraft: Bedrock Edition" as part of its celebration of New Zealand's culture, natural wonders, and way of life.
"The itinerary is part of the 100% Pure New Zealand campaign, and it will take you through six breathtaking destinations inspired by real-life natural marvels," said Mojang.
Users will have six destinations to visit via the new DLC, and this includes Abel Tasman, where they will get a chance to paddle a waka, Waimoto with its glowworms, Tekapo with a four-wheel drive adventure, Doubtful Sound with a boating experience, Kāpiti Island for rare native birdspotting, and Rotorua for geothermal activity.
Additionally, the game also included several NPCs to meet on the Aotearoa New Zealand DLC, featuring "kāumatua" or the elders of the land that will help guide users in their immersive adventure of the country's indigenous Māori culture.
