The first new Minecraft snapshot of 2017 is finally here, providing the world’s first look at Update 1.12, and Mojang is starting off the new year with a handful of new blocks for Minecraft fans to use in their next big build. And that’s just one of the changes in Minecraft snapshot 17w06a.
A variety of tweaks, big and small, can be found in our first preview of Minecraft 1.12. Smaller changes include a tweak to prevent fires on magma blocks from ever burning out and the ability to sleep near zombie pigmen who haven’t been aggroed by the player. Larger changes include a new concrete blocks, available in 16 different colors, and new color options for wool, sheep and banners. Players also have more control over their hotbar configuration, in Minecraft ’s creative mode, and tweaks to the game’s map to incorporate the game’s expanded color palette.
The most popular change in Minecraft snapshot 17w06a is likely to be the new glazed terracotta blocks introduced by Mojang. The terracotta blocks are available in 16 colors, each featuring a unique pattern, giving Minecraft fans new options to decorate their next village or structure.
