Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Nerfed a Bunch of Over-Performing Heroes

Patch 1.7.82 Moonton Studios

A bunch of heroes have been over-performing in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang lately, which prompted Moonton Studios to deploy a new round of balancing changes.

Patch 1.7.82 for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is now available on the main server. This patch nerfed several heroes, including Novaria, Wanwan, Joy, and Bane.

Novaria is one of the best heroes in ranked right now, so much so that she gets banned almost immediately during the selection phase. To reduce her ban rate, the company increased the cooldown of her ultimate from 45-35 to 56-48 seconds. If there's any consolation, Novaria's second skill is adjusted that lets her gain one more stack on average when launching her Astral Sphere from a considerable distance.

Wanwan is another hero that needed to be brought down a peg. She's capable of zipping through the map, thanks to her passive which scales really well with attack speed. In Patch 1.7.82, the company nerfed Wanwan significantly by lowering the movement speed bonus gained from her attack speed. She is still pretty mobile compared to other heroes, but the nerf is quite noticeable.

Joy keeps too much pressure on her opponents in the early game, so Moonton nerfed her passive and ultimate. Her passive's damage calculation has dropped from 200 + 80% magic power to 100 + 100% magic power. Her ultimate's damage, on the other hand, received a 30-point decrease (from 180 to 150) on the first level, though maximum damage remains the same.

And the last one on the nerf list is Bane. Bane's passive allowed him to eliminate the Turtle very early in a match. To address this, the damage calculation of his passive has been changed to:

  • Percent damage dealt based on enemy's Max HP: 5 (+0.2Hero Level) % > 3.5 + (0.3Hero Level) % Damage Cap against Creeps: 500 > 200 + 20*Hero Level.

Hero Adjustments

Balmond

  • Skill 1
    • Slow Effect: 30% > 60%
  • Ultimate
    • Damage: 400 + 60% of Total Physical Attack + 20%-30% of enemy's Lost HP > 150 + 70% of Total Physical Attack + 30%-45% of enemy's Lost HP.
    • Removed the slow effect.

Arlott

  • Skill 2
    • Base Damage: 135-335 > 110-310

Angela

  • Ultimate
    • Base Shield: 1,200-1,800 > 1,200-2,400

Gloo

  • Skill 1
    • Base Damage: 100-200 > 80 at All levels

Item Changes

  • Antique Cuirass
    • [Unique Passive: Deter] (↑)
    • When hit by a skill, reduces the attacker's Physical Attack by 8% > reduces the attacker's Physical Damage by 6%.
  • Dreadnaught Armor
    • [Unique Passive: Deter] (↑)
    • When hit by a skill, reduces the attacker's Physical Attack by 5% > reduces the attacker's Physical Damage by 4%.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Amon's Ultimate was dealing incorrect damage in rare cases.
  • Fixed an issue where Alpha's Ultimate had an increased stun duration in rare cases.
  • Fixed an issue where Joy's Ultimate showed an inconsistent cooldown time between Active mode and Inactive mode.
  • Fixed an issue where Freya's Skill 2 could not be cast in rare cases
  • Fixed an issue with Silvanna's Skill 2's description being incorrectly displayed.
  • Fixed an issue where the tasks in Hero Mastery Code could not be completed for certain heroes.
