Developer Player First Games and publisher Warner Bros. Games announced three new characters joining the growing MultiVersus roster, a day before the open beta. Popular NBA star LeBron James will be joining the game as per his appearance on Space Jam: A New Legacy, and Rick and Morty, the titular characters from Rick and Morty. Warner Bros. Games released a new trailer showing LeBron in action in MultiVersus, and you can check it out below.
Once the open beta for MultiVersus drops tomorrow, July 26, on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, and Xbox One, LeBron will immediately be part of the playable roster. On the other hand, Rick and Morty will not be available immediately; Rick Sanchez, the insane genius scientist, will be arriving in Season 1 at a later date, while his grandson Morty Smith will be joining the roster during Season 1’s launch on August 9.
As for these new characters’ movesets, LeBron will utilize his phenomenal on-court skills to overwhelm his competitors, from dunks to alley-oops. Rick Sanchez, living up to his name as a mad genius, uses his signature portal gun and the summoning of Meeseeks. Morty Smith has lots of tricks up his sleeve, including various projectiles, grenade weapons, and a special ability that allows him to launch himself at his opponents.
With the addition of LeBron, here are all the playable characters in MultiVersus as it goes into open beta tomorrow:
