The latest Need For Speed Showcase Update had only just arrived earlier this month, but EA and developer Ghost Games is already dropping hints regarding a new feature that may arrive in the imminent future. This morning, the official Need For Speed Facebook page and Instagram shared a short video of a tachometer banging the rev-limiter before switching gears. Could it be that the manual transmission is finally coming?

Although the video is short, it's clear that the teaser showcases a newly added gear indicator, which suggests that the car enthusiasts' gearbox of choice will finally make it to the game. Of course, throngs of Need for Speed fans are responding positively on Instagram and Facebook. However, Need for Speed is being coy and are asking the commenters to "keep an eye on our YouTube channel tomorrow."
Despite the impressive amount of new content that came with the latest Showcase Update, we reported that many NFS players took to Reddit to voice their frustration that EA still fails to deliver on many of the features they've been asking for since day-one. Apparently, it takes a while but the collective voice of NFS players are being heard after all. Stay tuned!
