New 'Overwatch' Comic For Year Of The Rooster: Join Winston On His Journey To The West

Overwatch’s Year Of The Rooster event is live, bringing with it a ton of Eastern-inspired skins, emotes and voice lines. To go along with the celebration, Blizzard has released a new comic about Winston reading the classic Chinese novel, Journey To the West .

Winston is a gorilla that was born in space and very rarely had any interactions with humans, besides his scientist mentor. It gets lonely up there, and the only thing keeping him company was his imagination. Winston’s main line is “imagination is the essence of discovery” which he learned through experiences like this.

The comic has very few words, instead usings visuals and music to tell its story. You don’t need to know what the Journey To The West story to understand the comic. Everything you learned from the original Dragonball series is more than enough. Make sure your sound is on while reading, you don’t want to miss any of the experience.

I cannot get over how gorgeous this comic looks. Every panel drips with personality, from the whimsical and overzealous Winston, to the pure joy of the scientist. They even got Roadhog to show some emotion with his pig face.
