Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Star Wars: Episode VIII may be on the way, but let’s not forget about the movie that restarted it all - Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Episode VII ’s Blu-ray/DVD release date is two weeks away, and a handful of never-before-seen footage will come packaged with each copy.

Ahead of the Blu-ray release, Entertainment Weekly has published several new images that showcase deleted scenes featured on the disc. The Force Awakens ’ director J.J. Abrams told EW that “there are so many things that end up getting cut because of the greater good, because of the rhythm of the sequence or the need to get on with it, a sense of redundancy. You don’t know any of these things when you’re making the movie, of course. It was sometimes after months of working on something that you realize finally — you just don’t need it.”

As you recall, this scene takes place in the movie’s opening, when John Boyega’s FN-2187 and the First Order attack a Jakku village. Finn, who is established to have second thoughts by this point, encounters a woman hiding from the carnage. According to EW, “He raises his weapon ... and makes a fateful decision.”

For those who still can’t get over Han Solo’s shocking death, this deleted scene will show the beloved smuggler at his finest, as he talks his way out of a rendezvous with a gang of stormtroopers. This moment takes place when the First Order storms Maz Kanata’s castle.

Here we find Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, who is in the midst of investigating the Millennium Falcon’s crash site on the Starkiller base. EW says “Inspecting the abandoned starship stirs bittersweet memories for the Dark Side acolyte, who is still battling the pull to the light side ... and now knows his estranged father is conspiring against him.” Perhaps Abrams made the right call leaving this scene out, as there has already been enough complaints about Ren’s sensitive nature.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives on Blu-ray/DVD on April 5.
