Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is heading to both PC and PlayStation 4, Bandai Namco confirmed this week, and several former Studio Ghibli employees have been retained by Level-5 to ensure the art and animations from the upcoming sequel look even more spectacular than Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch did when it hit PS3.
The latest Ni No Kuni 2 news was announced at a recent Bandai Namco event and included a few other tidbits on the game’s development. Most notably, several former Studio Ghibli artists are working on the upcoming sequel, which should assuage the fears of anyone worried NNK2 wouldn’t look as good as its predecessor without contributions from the beloved animation company. The publisher also confirmed the PlayStation 4 and PC builds of Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom will ship on the day. And if that news wasn’t already exciting enough for you, Bandai Namco says there won’t be any wait between the Japanese and US launches of the game. Ni No Kuni 2 will be released around the globe simultaneously.
Unfortunately, the company stopped short of giving us a specific timeline for that debut. Ni No Kuni 2 is still expected to emerge before the end of the year and neither Level-5 nor Bandai Namco have given us any reason to suspect it might be pushed back.
Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom is in development for PlayStation 4 and PC. The game is set to debut sometime in 2017.
