A little over 30 minutes of new NieR: Automata gameplay is out this week, thanks to a pair of new releases from Sony and Square Enix, and the tandem has us pretty hyped to get our hands on NieR: Automata when the game hits PS4 in a few weeks.
PlayStation Underground published more than 29 minutes of new NieR: Automata gameplay on Monday morning, featuring narration from PlayStation Blog’s Ryan Clements and two Square Enix employees. The video offers a brief explanation of the game’s story for anyone who hasn’t been following development of NieR: Automata, but the majority of the footage follows NA ’s protagonist, the android known as 2B, as she explores the game’s open world. The new video features a handful of activities, including plenty of combat, but (if you ask us) confirmation of a fishing mini-game is obviously the most important news of the week.
Elsewhere, Square Enix published a new NieR: Automata trailer that combines gameplay and in-game cinematics to tease a number of plot strings from the upcoming action RPG. Most of the gameplay features enemies and locales we’ve seen in previous videos, but there are a few new sights (and sounds) too. As usual, we’re steering clear of spoiler content in our write-up but those trying to learn as little as possible prior to launch should consider themselves warned.
